What will you do to ensure road safety, particularly for pedestrians, cyclists, kids and seniors?

Road safety

There is no easy answer to road safety. We all share the roads, but the road system was not necessarily designed to address the needs of everyone who uses them today.

Drivers need to be more aware of their surroundings. Cyclists also need to make sure they are visible and that drivers can see them. Children and seniors need safe crossing areas and everyone needs to be aware that there are many different forms of transportation on our roads today not just cars, but bikes, e-bikes, scooters and skateboards as well.

I would support looking at ways to redesign our roads, including one-way traffic in appropriate areas, particularly in the core, so we can create more room and make our streets safer and more inclusive for everyone.
How will you balance the cost of our major departments (specifically TTC) with providing good service?

TTC and the cost of services

When it comes to property taxes, I don’t support raising taxes by more than 3%, especially when we have to consider the rising cost of living and the pressure that puts on families.

At the same time, the TTC is an important public service. We need to keep fares affordable and continue building and improving public transit. We also need to make sure we are getting the best value possible from the money we are already spending.

I believe we need to find a balance between keeping costs under control and making sure people have access to reliable public transportation.
Where do you stand on the city's role in climate change?

Climate change

We only have one world, and we need to do more to take care of it.

I believe we can do a better job of recycling and, just as importantly, reusing things instead of always throwing them away. There are practical things the City can do to reduce waste and be more responsible with the resources we have.

How do you see the homelessness situation in Toronto, and in your ward, today?

Homelessness

The homelessness situation is in serious need of attention. We need to address it in a way that helps people move from the streets into safe, warm, and stable homes.

For those who are physically able to work, we should provide the support and opportunities needed to help them return to the workforce, regain independence, and contribute to a stronger Canada. Those who require medical attention or other specialized support should be assisted in accessing the care they need.

We must also never forget our seniors. They deserve to live with the dignity, security, and respect they have earned throughout their lives.
What specific actions would you take or support if elected?

My Actions

Action starts with education and understanding the issues we are facing and what needs to be done to address them effectively.

I would support working closely with community leaders, local organizations, support groups, and residents to identify and address the primary needs facing our community and our city. Solutions should be practical, coordinated, and focused on helping people achieve greater stability and independence.
How would you handle shelter capacity, encampments and supportive housing, and how would you work with the province, the federal government and community agencies on mental health and addiction services?

Collective Approach

This requires a collective approach. No single level of government or organization can solve these challenges alone.

Everyone who has a role to play should have a seat at the table whenever possible. That means bringing together the municipal, provincial, and federal governments, community agencies, healthcare providers, support organizations, and community leaders to develop coordinated solutions.

We need to have everything on the table, listen to the people working directly with those affected, and focus on practical solutions that move people toward safe housing, appropriate care, and greater stability.

AI is here, and we need to embrace it rather than fear it. We should focus on finding responsible ways to leverage AI and the economic opportunities it creates, rather than pretending it isn’t here or trying to hold back technological progress.

Raising taxes alone does not solve the housing problem; increased costs can ultimately be passed on to renters and homeowners. We cannot create more land, and I don’t believe the answer is simply building ever-higher towers in the core—we should invest in better transit and infrastructure that connects our larger cities with smaller communities and towns, giving people more affordable places to live while allowing those communities to grow.

Policing is a profession that carries great responsibility, respect, and a duty to serve the public. We need enough police to keep our communities safe and uphold the law, but policing must always operate within the boundaries of the law and protect the rights and values of the people they serve.

We need to make every taxpayer dollar go further. There has been too much waste without enough accountability, and I believe government needs to focus less on simply spending more money and more on investing in the right solutions, measuring results, and ensuring taxpayers get value for their money.
